Results: Among 93 people treated, 59% had recently injected drugs (past month), 77% were receiving OST and 56% injected drugs during therapy. Overall, 76% completed treatment. Mean on-treatment adherence to PEG-IFN and ribavirin were 98.2% and 94.6%. Overall, 6% of participants missed >1 dose of PEG-IFN and 31% took <95% of their prescribed ribavirin., Higher treatment completion was observed among those receiving 12 vs. 24 weeks of treatment (97% vs. 46%, P < 0.001) while the proportion of participants with 95% on-treatment ribavirin adherence was similar between groups (67% vs. 72%, P = 0.664). Receiving 12 weeks of therapy was independently associated with treatment completion. No factors were associated with 95% RBV adherence. Neither recent injecting drug use at baseline nor during therapy was associated with treatment completion or adherence to ribavirin. In adjusted analysis, treatment completion was associated with SVR (aOR 23.9, 95% CI 2.9–193.8). Conclusions: This study demonstrated a high adherence to directly observed PEG-IFN and self-administered ribavirin among people with ongoing injecting drug use or receiving OST. These data also suggest that shortening therapy from 24 to 12 weeks can lead to improved treatment completion. Treatment completion was associated with improved response to therapy.]]> Thu 28 Oct 2021 13:03:33 AEDT ]]> Predictors of adherence to smoking cessation medications among current and ex-smokers in Australia: Findings from a national cross-sectional survey https://nova.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:45307 Thu 27 Oct 2022 13:57:01 AEDT ]]> Predictors of failure to initiate randomized treatment in a large trial of antihypertensive drug therapy in the aged https://nova.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:412 = 6.6 v <= 5.0 mmol/L 1.27 (1.06-1.53); and not ever having had a raised cholesterol 1.20 (1.04-1.40). Conclusion: Physiotherapists regularly spend time prescribing self-management strategies such as exercise, advice, and the use of heat or ice to patients receiving treatment linked to a range of injury locations. This suggests that self-management is considered to be an important adjunct to in-clinic physiotherapy. The practice implications of this are that clinicians should reflect on how self-management strategies can be used to maximize patient outcomes, and whether the allocation of consultation time to self-management is likely to optimize patient adherence to each strategy.]]> Mon 23 Sep 2019 13:24:28 AEST ]]> Patient adherence to physiotherapist-prescribed self-management strategies https://nova.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:32226 Mon 23 Sep 2019 12:51:57 AEST ]]> Rates of compliance and adherence to high-intensity interval training: a systematic review and Meta-analyses https://nova.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:54770 Mon 11 Mar 2024 15:08:40 AEDT ]]> Medicines use issues perceived by Arabic-speaking patients living in English-speaking countries: A systematic review https://nova.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:51388 Mon 04 Sep 2023 13:13:02 AEST ]]> Supporting engagement, adherence, and behavior change in online dietary interventions https://nova.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:42120 Fri 26 Aug 2022 10:32:20 AEST ]]> Adherence to multiple health behaviours in cancer survivors: a systematic review and meta-analysis https://nova.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:36889 5 years) survivors (PE 25%; 95% CI, 14%, 36%).
